OCZMA Submits Comments to Minerals Management Service on its Proposed Rule to Regulate Alternative Energy Activities on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS)
OCZMA submitted comments on September 8, 2008 to the Minerals Management Service (MMS) on its Proposed Rule to Regulate Alternative Energy Activities on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). As an Association of local governments on the Oregon Coast (counties, cities, ports, soil & water conservation districts and the Coquille Indian Tribe), OCZMA will have a huge stake in the outcome of this rulemaking process and the subsequent administration of MMS's offshore alternative energy program. OCZMA's key recommendation to MMS was to take a measured, phased approach to proposed wave energy activities on the Outer Continental Shelf.
